Epiphyllum oxypetalum
August 17. 2000

7 pm
The huge buds are ready to open, the show is about to begin.

Luckily the weather is cooperating and the mosquitos are tolerable -
we are following the progress of three flowers, developing on two plants, which most likely originated from the same mother plant.

The photo above was taken about 8 pm.

Left photo at 8:30 pm -
At this stage a beautiful scent fills the corner of our backyard.

We are almost there, the next pictures were taken about 9 pm

10:30 pm
Fully open and looking absolutely spectacular!
The flowers measure about ten inches in diameter.

11:45pm
and here is the final look, knowing very well,  these flowers will be drooping in the morning.
